Black Bear Behavior with Ben Kilham

June 11, 2023

Please join us at the Cathedral of the Pines for an extraordinary presentation on Black Bear Behavior by, bear expert, Ben Kilham of the Kilham Bear Center in Lyme, NH. This spectacular lecture, accompanied by a question-and-answer session, will be held
Sunday, June 11th from 1:00-3:00pm

Ben says, “We have been rehabilitating and releasing injured, orphaned, and abandoned black bear cubs since 1993. The Center receives cubs from New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts.”

“Black bear cubs weigh less than a pound when they are born in the dead of winter. Their eyes are shut, bodies hairless, and their ears are folded. They continue to develop, nestled in their mother’s fur unable to walk or climb, until they emerge from their winter den early to mid-April.”

As our local bears are emerging from their long winter’s sleep, come ask Ben any questions you have always wanted to know about these beautiful wild animals!

This not-to-be-missed program is open to all ages. The cost is $10 for adults and $1.00 for children.
